CFE COMBI Modules
CFE COMBI modules shown in pictures 1-3 are high temperature fiber modules fabricated from two different chemistries of fiber blankets: high alumina polycrystalline wool (PCW) blanket on the hot face, and aluminum zirconia silica (AZS) fibers on the cold face. The modules exhibit low thermal conductivity, low shrinkage, and excellent resistance to severe environments at temperatures up to 1600C (2912F).
Take a closer look at the construction of our CFE-COMBIs:
- The composite structure is a unique blend of CFE high alumina fiber and lower temperature fiber blanket, physically anchored with an interlocking structure bonded with an inorganic, high temperature adhesive. Module is designed to provide a reliable, high temperature lining at an affordable cost.
- Available with a nominal density of 7.5 – 9 pcf on the hot face and 9 – 12 pcf on the cold face and are customized to fit a particular application. Both the Galv line and reheat furnace pictured, were custom designed. This allowed us to minimize the shrinkage and supply a superior lining.
- The hot face layer consists of a 72% alumina fiber for normal operating conditions. These are extremely low in shot, within the hot face layer, and therefore are ideally suited for galvanizing applications and much more.
Extended Life = Money Saved
The construction and customization of our combi-module system helped us achieve a prolonged lining life of 19 years in the DF zone of the galvanizing lining pictured. We are confident the recently installed replacement lining will last another 19 years, saving the customer money with the reduction of heat loss, downtime, and maintenance issues.
